Abstract:
IBM Bluemix is an open-standards, cloud based platform for building, managing and running apps and services of all types (web, mobile, big data, new smart devices). Capabilities include Java, mobile back end development, application monitoring, as well as capabilities from ecosystem partners and open source — all through an as-a-service model in the cloud.
This session will explore the value proposition of Platform as a Service and introduce the fundamentals of building and deploying an application in the cloud using Bluemix. The session will include a live demonstration of the Bluemix web user interface, sample applications, and associated tools.

Adam de Leeuw:
Adam works at the IBM Hursley Innovation Centre providing consultancy to business partners, helping them activate their solutions on IBM software, hardware and cloud offerings.
Recently he has presented on IBM Bluemix at various UK universities and cloud focused industry events. Previously, Adam has been a consultant working with WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Portal and WebSphere Commerce.
