Abstract:
WebSphere Application Server for z/OS: Update nnWebSphere Application Server is a premiere Java EE application server that runs across seven different operating systems. IBM has invested in enabling application portability across these operating system and also in differentiating WAS to take advantage of the z/OS qualities of service. nThis session introduces new capability exclusive to WebSphere Application Server for z/OS V7.0, which ensures WAS z/OS will continue to deliver the highest levels of availability, scalability and security for mission-critical applications. Among the topics covered will be: new and updated adapters for access to local data and services; new options for recovering from hung threads; improved caching options; and improved performance.

Steve Foley, IBM:

Steve Foley is a WebSphere technical specialist in IBM Software Group, in which role he provides technical pre-sales support for WebSphere application infrastructure on the System z platform. He has over 20 years experience working with mainframe transaction processing systems, and holds a degree in Computer Science from Edinburgh University.
